Spare The Rod!

Hi all,
Did you read the article in the Straits Times titled: Spare the rod and not spoil the child? Might be a good idea to let your parents read it........ But for those of you who read it, do you have any views? My parents spare the rod, but don't spare my time on the computer... Wonder which one is worse...
